Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, the Niger State Governor, has ordered a curfew in Lambata Town after a terrible clash that led to the killing of its village head, Mohammed Abdulsafur.
Lambata is located in the Gurara Local Government Area of the state.
Meanwhile, a statement has been issued by the Secretary to the State Government,
SSG, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, further explaining that in light of the recent unfortunate incident, the state government was imposing a curfew in Lambata town that will commence from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am as from Sunday, January 15, 2023, until further notice.
The statement dated January 14 had been signed by Lawal Tanko, the Information
Officer, to the SSG’s Office.
Matane had further revealed that the imposition of the curfew in Lambata was to help security agencies to stabilize the tense situation in the area, save lives and enable the restoration of law and order.
The Niger state government has called on all the residents of the area to cooperate with the security agents in the urgent and important task of restoring peace in Lambata.
