33-year-old Kellyrae of ‘No Loose Guard’ season 9, was finally declared the winner of the show. The highly anticipated announcement was made by show anchor Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Day 71 of the competition, bringing the somewhat pulsating season to an end. Kellyrae was announced the winner after a keen contest with other finalists like Sooj, Anita, Nelly, Onyeka, Wanni, Victoria, and Ozee.

What separated Kellyrae even further was not the charm and talent but the gutsy move to come into the house with his wife, Kassia, secretly keeping their marriage under wraps for 10 whole weeks. Living in a place where emotions run high, it was a secret adding intrigue to his journey and admiration by fans with how dignified and authentic the couple was. When their marital status was finally revealed, all the respect and affection of the viewers for Kellyrae increased all the more and sealed his position as the most outstanding contestant of the season.

He won the poll with 35.95%, a close margin above the immediate first runner-up, Wanni, who scored 32.48%. Kellyrae will be taking home a cash prize of N100 million, which is N60 million in cash and a brand-new car worth N40 million, for winning the reality show. His win sent social media into overdrive as fans reacted on the platforms and coined the phrase “The Money is Married!”.

Fans were uncontrollable with joy, posting all over social media.
“The money is marriiieeeddddd!”
“Well deserved, for a change! Let calm and good behaviour win!”. Kellyrae’s story has truly been one of the most memorable, not just about winning but that of love, integrity, and strength in the Big Brother Naija house.
