President Bola Tinubu has just conferred the honour of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON) on Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and the Chief Justice of the Federation, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.
The president had made the declaration while making a speech on Tuesday morning to mark Nigeria’s Independence Day.
In the President’s words: “The Senate President and the Chief Justice of the Federation have been conferred with the honor of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).”
He also announced that the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass have both been bestowed the honor of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR).
Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House was additionally awarded Commander of the Order of Niger (CON) as part of the national honors awards.
