The Arewa4Asiwaju group has come out to hail the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, for speaking up against the January 31 deadline initially set for the swap of the old naira notes for the redesigned ones.
According to the group, Tinubu’s declaration at Abeokuta, Ogun State, had prompted the Federal Government to extend the January 31st deadline to February 10 which helped stopped the nation from ‘going up in flames’.
Arewa4Asiwaju had therefore said Nigerians owe Tinubu gratitude for stepping into the critical situation and risking everything to change the pandemonium caused by the initial deadline.
A statement by the group’s North-Central coordinator, Aliyu Pass, released in Kaduna on Monday, January 28 partly read, “Whether anyone believes it or not, it is the courageous sagacity shown by Tinubu that invariably saved the Nigerian commoner from the untold suffering of the initial timeline set by the Federal Government for the new currency swap.”
