The summer transfer window is still wide open with clubs from all over Europe rushing to complete their deals before the Deadline Day. On Monday, there were new developments, confirmations, and a few surprises.

According to David Ornstein, Liverpool have announced that highly-rated midfielder James McConnell has agreed a new five-year contract before going out on loan to Ajax for the 2025/26 season. The Reds are planning to develop McConnell with the move in the Eredivisie.

Over in Germany, Borussia Dortmund is still pursuing the Premier League for more acquisitions. After they had already signed two English players earlier, they just got another one – Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea. In addition, it is being reported that Dortmund are getting closer to signing Wolves striker Fabio Silva who has been off the pitch a lot in England.

In the Premier League, meanwhile, Crystal Palace are in the middle of negotiating with Villarreal to get their hands on Spanish forward Yeremy Pino. The transfer that is predicted to be worth about €50 million, will make the 21-year-old the club’s most expensive signing. At the same time, West Ham are trying to get the midfielder of Nottingham Forest, Ibrahim Sangaré, on loan.

There were also some moves that have been confirmed. Matic signed a one-year deal with Sassuolo after he left Lyon and will be bringing leadership and experience to the Serie A newcomers. In the Championship, Leeds United have made their tenth summer signing by paying £8m to Leicester City to secure the services of the full-back James Justin.

On the other hand, the rumors about the future of Kobbie Mainoo at Manchester United continue to be the focus of attention, and there is uncertainty about his future under the command of Ruben Amorim. On the other hand, it has been reported that Spurs and Arsenal are fighting to sign Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie.

The speed of negotiations will only be intensified as the top clubs in Europe decide their last-minute transfers with just days remaining in the window.
