Nigerian singer Waje has called on citizens to stand behind individuals who are actively speaking out for the rights and welfare of everyday Nigerians.
In a message shared via her Instagram story, Waje expressed concern over the lack of support—or outright resistance—faced by those who challenge social and economic injustices in the country.
She stressed the importance of backing such voices to help build a more equitable society.
“Stop stifling the voice of well meaning Nigerians that are concerned about the well being of the common man,” she wrote. “If you do what you are supposed to do, nobody will call you out. Selah.”
Waje’s message reflects the increasing frustration over how activists and socially conscious individuals are treated in Nigeria. She is encouraging people to stop being indifferent and instead support those who are speaking out for justice and holding leaders accountable.
