The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a caution notice to Nigerians, drawing their attention to the European Union’s ban on Dex Luxury Bar Soap (No. 6 Mystic Flower).
The notification, contained in public alert No. 012/2024 and signed by NAFDAC Director-General Mojisola Adeyeye, was released in Abuja on Sunday.

According to the alert, the product does not comply with cosmetic product regulations and contains Butylphenyl Methylpropional (BMHCA), a substance prohibited in cosmetic products due to its potential harm to the reproductive system.
Adeyeye urged the public to discontinue use and sale of the product and to submit any stock to the nearest NAFDAC office.
Healthcare professionals and consumers are advised to report any suspected adverse reactions or substandard and falsified regulated products to the nearest NAFDAC office by calling 0800-162-3322 or via email.
