Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, won hearts with a blend of humor and sentiment as he delivered a memorable speech at the wedding of singer and entrepreneur Mr Eazi (Tosin Ajibade) and billionaire heiress Temi Otedola in Iceland.
Addressing guests as the Chairman of the occasion, Dangote described Iceland as “a very special place,” revealing it was his first visit. With a touch of humor, he admitted he had been asleep since arriving but had canceled multiple engagements to attend, noting that Temi was “a very, very special person to the family.”
Turning his attention to the groom, Dangote lauded Mr Eazi’s humility and business acumen, expressing amazement at the scale of his operations across 18 African countries. He described him as “calm, humble, and a rare blend of musician and businessman,” while adding that Temi was “lucky to have such a husband.”
For the bride, Dangote praised her independence and drive, recalling that she had consistently sought to forge her own path rather than rely solely on her father’s wealth. He described Temi as “entrepreneurial, tough, and determined,” qualities he said would be valuable in her marriage.
Offering words of marital guidance, the billionaire encouraged the couple to handle matters privately, strengthen their bond, and avoid outside interference. He humorously promised to host a “very big party” to celebrate the birth of their first child within the year, suggesting potential locations in London, Miami, or even back in Iceland.
Dangote concluded by commending Femi Otedola, Temi’s father, for organizing the lavish event, calling it “the greatest wedding of the year” and “a truly historic celebration.”
