Why I ended my beef with BNXN – Ruger

Singer Ruger has spoken out about his desire to terminate his long-running rivalry with fellow musician BNXN.

In an interview with Beats FM 99.9, Ruger ascribed the issue to fan comparisons, which he says can be both destructive and beneficial to the music industry.

He underlined that rather than focusing on comparisons, they chose to prioritise making amazing music together, which resulted in their collaboration EP “RnB”.

Ruger also talked about the inspiration for his latest tracks “Luv Again” and “Make Way,” emphasising the need of promoting great music in a competitive business where some musicians rely on financial backing rather than talent.

What they’re saying

He stated, “Comparison kills joy, but it is required for the game. This is what keeps these people entertained. The debates, and so on.”

“We looked beyond the comparisons and asked, ‘How can we push good music together?'” Because there are many differences in the music industry today.

“Some people are publishing bad things, but they are using money to get them out there, and they are flying. If you look at the ‘RnB’ project, the music is excellent.”

Bottom Line

Ruger acknowledges that comparisons between artists are inevitable, but he chooses to focus on the positive aspects of competition and use it to create good music.

Their recent collaboration “RnB” is a testament to this approach. Ruger also highlights the challenges of the music industry where financial backing can sometimes overshadow talent. He believes that good music should ultimately prevail.
