The Turkish citizens are beginning to voice their anger against the Russians who have fled their country into Turkey to avoid conscription. It is not just the conscription dodgers that have ended up in Turkey. There are also a lot Russians who are in disagreement with Putin’s war seeking refuge in Turkey. Russians constitute the largest group of foreigners living in Turkey.
The visa-free travel allows Russians walk through Turkey’s border as easy as a hot knife through butter, but now their stay is no longer welcome. We are talking about a hundred and fifty thousand Russians with short term permits that have now expired.
The Turks want them out.
The options of these Russians are becoming thinner with every passing day as very few, if any of the other EU countries will have them. The EU is against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
