Former Nigerian star Osaze Odemwingie has delivered a passionate message to the Super Eagles ahead of their AFCON final clash against Ivory Coast: believe in yourselves, but keep your celebrations on hold!

While acknowledging Nigeria’s dominance over South Africa and the excitement that comes with reaching the final, Osaze warns against complacency. Ivory Coast is a formidable opponent, not to be underestimated.

“Let’s leave the celebration and focus on the next match,” Osaze urges. “We want this cup, but we must be serious first.”

As a three-time AFCON participant himself, Osaze knows the importance of mental preparation. “We have the upper hand mentally and emotionally,” he declares, recalling Nigeria’s group stage victory over Ivory Coast.

“We have all the talents,” Osaze continues, highlighting the individual skill within the Nigerian team. “We have a team with more talented players than Cote d’Ivoire.”

However, talent alone doesn’t win trophies. Osaze’s message is clear: focus, determination, and a united team spirit are key to bringing home the AFCON title.

Will the Super Eagles heed Osaze’s advice and silence the home crowd in Ivory Coast? Tune in to the final on Sunday to find out!
