Naja’atu Salisu, a 300-level student of Computer Science student at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, was found unconscious in a hostel bathroom on Friday morning.
She had entered the female hostel at the university’s Gubi campus to prepare for lectures, but did not come out.
“She made preparation for the morning class before entering the bathroom. “She brought clothes she planned to wear to class and kept them on the side of her bed,” Naja’atu’s roommate stated.
ATBU Spokesperson Zailani Bappa confirmed the occurrence, saying she was brought to the university’s clinic for medical assistance, but doctors were unable to locate a vein in her body
.”Having noticed this, Naja’atu was rushed to the Trauma Centre of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital where she was certified dead by a medical doctor.
Bappa stated that Naja’atu was buried in accordance with Islamic traditions. In the same line, the ATBU Students Union Government (SUG), in a sympathy message signed by the Union’s Secretary, Comrade Danladi Zakiru, described the deceased as a hard-working student who will be deeply missed by the university’s student population.
