Yet to be identified gunmen have abducted a lecturer from the Faculty of Biological Sciences, in the University of Cross River State, Dr. Iniudo George-Ukpong, less than twenty-four hours after Governor Bassey Otu had severely warned criminals to repent and take his amnesty or face the consequences.
The kidnappers had also abductor has also taken with them, a staff member of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH, Barbara Brownson.
Source’s close to Iniudo had revealed that he had been abducted on his way back from work.
Iniudo, is an Associate Professor of environmental and public health parasitology.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO in the state, Irene Ugbo is yet to make a comment on the recent development as at the time of writing this report.
