French Prosecutor Reveals that According to Le Parisien, Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi may be charged formally and have to answer in a court of law for a rape case that occurred in February 2023.
The Nanterre public prosecutor’s office has sought for the Moroccan international to be dealt with by a criminal court.
The matter of the allegation is an incident with a 24-year-old woman who said that Hakimi was the one that invited her to his place after they had contact via Instagram.
She kept insisting that he kissed and touched her without her consent and then he raped her. The woman argued that she pushed him away with her foot and also sent a text to a friend asking for help. The friend later gave the same version of the events to the police.
On March 3, 2023, Hakimi was charged with rape and was under judicial supervision. After a confrontation with the complainant in December 2023—where she kept her version of the occurrence—Hakimi, however, has been denying the charges all the way through and according to his legal team he called them a “racket attempt.”On August 1, the public prosecutor indicated that Hakimi should face trial.
The lawyer of Hakimi considered such a step “unfathomable” and she presented some parts of the complainant’s inconsistencies as well as psychological reports in her defense.
Hakimi continues being presumed innocent and has had the support of PSG all along the legal case.
