Morocco Reigns Supreme:

The Atlas Lions of Morocco have roared to the top of the African pile, claiming the 12th spot in the global rankings! This marks a historic achievement for the North African nation, solidifying their dominance on the continent.

Senegal and Nigeria on the Rise:

Despite falling short in the final, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have much to celebrate. Their impressive run at the AFCON propelled them 14 spots, landing them in the 28th position globally and 3rd in Africa. This significant jump showcases their potential and growing strength. Senegal, too, climbed three spots to 17th globally, solidifying their position as a major African force.

Cote d’Ivoire and Egypt Hold Steady:

The AFCON champions, Cote d’Ivoire, enter the top 40 globally at 39th, while Egypt, despite missing out on the podium, remains firmly in the top 40 at 36th. These two teams are consistent contenders and will undoubtedly be hungry for more success in the future.

A New Dawn for African Football?

This reshuffle in the rankings paints a promising picture for African football. The continent’s teams are demonstrating incredible talent and determination, challenging the established order on the global stage. Morocco’s rise to the top and Nigeria’s significant jump are testaments to this growing potential.

While the road ahead is long, these recent developments suggest that African football is on the cusp of something special. With continued investment, development, and strong performances, the future looks bright for the beautiful game on the continent.
