The People’s Democratic Party, PDP has called on the international community to impose strict sanctions, including a visa ban, on outgoing President, Muhammadu Buhari for undermining democracy in Nigeria.
The political party had made this statement while reacting to a comment attributed to the President where he had claimed that opposition parties lost the presidential election because of their zealous overconfidence and lack of strategy.
According to the party, President Buhari’s comment was reckless as the February 25 presidential election had been judged across the nation and worldwide as the worst democratic election in the history of Nigeria as the poll had been marred by the several alterations of original results, the announcement of false figures, and violence all round.
