The Co-Convener of the Bring Back Our Girls campaign or the #BringBackOurGirls, Aisha Yesufu, had on Saturday, October 15, challenged the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, to explain to the citizens of the country, his plans to tackle police brutality in the country.
Yesufu made the ‘challenge’ on Twitter, via her official Twitter handle.
This is happening a few days after a retired Nigerian Army officer, John Enenche, who opposed the October 2020 #ENDSARS protest was listed in the Labour Party’s presidential campaign council.
The activist had been on the frontline of the campaign and protest against unjust police brutality in 2020. Additionally, her image, where she was holding her hand up in a form of a power symbol was widely used during the #ENDSARS protest.
She tweeted: “Peter Obi MUST provide the answer on how he is going to tackle police brutality. No ifs or buts about this!”
