A 35-year-old man was stoned to death on Monday by an enraged mob for reportedly murdering two people and wounding six others in an accident on Ijoka Road in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.

SP Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the spokeswoman for the Ondo State police command, confirmed the event to reporters.

According to Odunlani-Omisanya, a car and a motorcycle used for business were both involved in the collision.

The police spokeswoman added that the driver’s parents might have also perished if it weren’t for the police’s swift action.

She claimed that the parents weren’t traveling in the same vehicle as their son and had merely arrived to see the incident.

According to information previously obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the driver was thought to be a well-known internet fraudster by the name of “Yahoo Boy.”

He is alleged to have driven erratically and struck about five passenger-carrying commercial motorcycles at various locations at Ijo Mimo through Sunday bus stop to Ijoka road in Akure.
