Congress Overview

The election, conducted through a voice vote, was overseen by Dr. Adoye Omalez, representing the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje. Other executive positions were also filled during the congress.

Party Unity and Leadership Praise

Chief Victor Giadom, APC National Vice Chairman for the South-South region, commended the party delegates for their orderly conduct, which he said reflected the unity and cohesion of the party in Rivers State. He urged members to support the new leadership to further the party’s goals.

Okocha’s Vision for 2027

In his inaugural speech, Okocha declared the APC’s goal to take control of the Rivers State government by 2027. He dismissed claims that the APC lacked unity, emphasizing that the peaceful election process demonstrated the party’s strength.

He also praised President Bola Tinubu for his leadership, particularly the reopening of the Port Harcourt Refinery, and assured members that the APC would win future elections in the state.

Commitment to Progress

Okocha outlined a clear vision for the APC’s future, stating that the party would aim to win in all levels of government, including the state assembly, local government areas, National Assembly, and governorship elections. He also reiterated the importance of supporting President Tinubu’s administration for national progress.

Gratitude and Acknowledgments

Okocha expressed gratitude to the APC delegation and INEC for their role in ensuring a smooth congress. He also thanked party members for their dedication and support in achieving the election’s success.

Other Executive Positions

The congress also resulted in the election of several other key APC officials, including the Deputy Chairman, State Secretary, Publicity Secretary, State Auditor, Women Leader, Youth Leader, Legal Advisor, and Zonal Leaders from the three senatorial districts.
