Fear and panic have been over certain communities in Ogun State, after the reported threat of fresh attacks from suspected killer herdsmen.

The communities that had been threatened to be attacked by the herdsmen were the Asa, Agbon, Ibeku, and Oja-Odan communities in the Yewa-North Local Government Area of the state. This information was according to The PUNCH newspapers.

The letter had allegedly been written and delivered yesterday, Saturday, 17 December.

In the letter, the herdsmen had written in English and Hausa languages, informing the residents of their intention of attacking the communities through the notice letter purportedly pasted on the walls in the strategic places of those communities.

The contents of the letter simply informed the leaders of the communities to expect their visit to their homes between December 2022 and January 2023

The letter reads below:

“Attention! Attention!! Attention!! to the following communities; Asa, Agbon, lbeku, Oja-odan, and its environs.

“You think you can send away our people from the land they bought in Nigeria? Our father’s land. You kill our people. You kill their cows. You take over all their properties. Do you think you can go scot-free? It’s high time we take our revenge.

“All the above-mentioned community leaders should prepare for war between December and January. We are coming to take back our father’s belonging.”
