Barcelona have been banned from selling tickets to their supporters for their next Champions League away fixture, following racist behaviour by some fans during their match against Monaco, announced UEFA on Friday.
The CEDB has imposed a sanction previously suspended by the UEFA Appeals Body in April 2024, which prevents Barcelona from selling away tickets. This after Barca fans were found guilty of racist behavior during the 2-1 defeat to Monaco at Louis-II stadium last week.
“The CEDB has decided to enforce the suspended disciplinary measure.to ban FC Barcelona from selling tickets to its away supporters for the next UEFA competition match,” said UEFA in a statement that referred to the Article 26(3) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations .
Besides the ban, Barcelona were also fined €10,000 along with an additional one-match suspension on away ticket sales for a period of one year.
In fact, this will be Barcelona’s next away Champions League match on November 6 against Red Star in Belgrade, with the team to have to do without the visiting supporters. A clear-line statement from UEFA over racism in football.
