President Joe Biden isn’t giving up on his reelection bid, even as more Democratic voices beg him to throw in the towel. Despite isolating at home with COVID, Biden’s resolve remains ironclad. “I’ll be back on the campaign trail next week to fight Trump’s Project 2025 agenda,” he declared.

The numbers are telling: 31 out of 264 Congressional Democrats want him out. The reason? A dreadful debate performance against Trump has raised serious doubts about his ability to win or govern for another term. These lawmakers fear a disastrous loss on November 5th, one that could also sink crucial House and Senate races.

Representative Zoe Lofgren, a close ally of Nancy Pelosi, wrote bluntly, “Your campaign is doomed. Step aside.” Pelosi hasn’t publicly echoed this but has privately told Biden he can’t win, according to inside sources.

Adding to the pressure, a Democratic group, Pass the Torch, plans to run ads on Biden’s favorite show, urging him to quit.

While Biden’s campaign chair acknowledges the tough road ahead, she insists his support hasn’t plummeted. A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll shows Biden and Trump neck-and-neck nationally, but Biden lags in key battleground states.

If Biden steps down, Vice President Kamala Harris might step up. Polls suggest she could fare slightly better against Trump. Meanwhile, Trump continues his usual antics, attacking Biden and fear-mongering about migrants, all while boasting about his unity within the GOP.

The clock is ticking, and Democrats are increasingly desperate for a change at the top. Will Biden heed their calls, or will his stubbornness lead to a political catastrophe in November?
