In the early hours of Saturday, September 17, 2022, a building that collapsed in Birniwa local government area in Jigawa state, left at least one person dead. The Police spokesperson in the state, Deputy Superintendent Lawan Shiisu Adam reported that the incident had happened early hours of Saturday.
The DSP then went on to reveal that while one person had died on the spot, others more had been injured. The injured victims were immediately rushed to Birniwa General Hospital for proper diagnosis and treatment. DSP Adam further added that the police did not suspect any foul play as the collapsed building had been built with mud.
