There is an ongoing protest in Moyamba, Freetown in Sierra Leone, as a result of the election malpractices during the country’s 2023 general elections and the murder of opposition party members, according to eyewitness reports.
It was reported that the Sierra Leone military officers had shot at some of the demonstrators, in an attempt to curb the rebellion.
This report however, is still to be verified. Most of the reports gotten about this incident had been from eyewitnesses.
An eyewitness had said:
“The ongoing protest in Sierra Leone today is over the hike in the price of fuel, food items, election misconducts during the 2023 general elections as well as the killing of opposition party members.”
Another eyewitness had also commented, saying that the deaths recently recorded had been from Freetown.
