D’Tigress has announced thier intentions to boycott future camps in order to show their grievances about their allowances that has not been paid since 2017.

Some players of the Nigeria women’s Basketball team has come out to elaborate more on the pressing issue in a video that surfaced online. The players which are; Victoria Macaulay and Promise Amukamara made it known that the players and the officials have not been invited or honoured by the president since their 2019 Afrobasket Championship win.

Victoria Macaulay expressed her disgust about how the ministry has not shown concern about their historical 3rd successive win at the Championship. However, she revealed that the case was different under Solomon Dalung while he was in charge of the sports ministry, in 2017 the team were welcome by the ministry alongside the president but the current ministry has failed to follow suit 2019.

Amukamara on her part disclosed that the statement made by Musa Kida about the bonuses and allowances being paid are all lies.

She said, “Sometimes back, we checked our allowances, bonuses, stipends, training and some other donations by banks and organisations ahead of the Olympics and it has not been paid.”

Nigeria Basketball Federation are owing the girls  73,118 dollars, the Tokyo grants ministry owes 24,000 dollars and 100,000 dollars donations from 3 banks meant for Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Ezinne Kalu says that the ministry has depreciated since the re-signing of the team’s manager and general manager, the Landerneau BB point guard stated that Kida and his team only shows up when they win and its for political gains.

With the look of things, the only way the ministry can make the players attend any future camps is by clearing all the backlogs of debts, as the players are hell bent on fighting the cause till the end.
