Elon Musk has clarified that he does not intend to donate $45 million every month to an organization that backs former President Donald Trump, contrary to some media reports suggesting otherwise. In a talk with Jordan Peterson, a well-known person who often talks about conservative ideas, Musk said that the news stories were wrong.
On Monday, during a conversation, Musk said, “The news stories are incorrect. I’m not providing $45 million every month to support Trump.” He also talked about this on his X platform (previously called Twitter) on Wednesday, explaining that he is indeed donating to America PAC, but not as much as the news reports suggest.
Musk noted that America PAC supports ideas he agrees with, such as selecting people based on their abilities and allowing individuals to make their own decisions. He further explained that most Republicans, though not all, share these views.
Musk’s support for Trump came after someone tried to harm the former president, and Musk wished for Trump to get better quickly. But Musk’s role in the 2024 election goes against his promise to stay out of politics. This change in Musk’s position is important and could affect how Trump’s campaign gets money. America PAC wants to keep things going.
