The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, personnel had on Tuesday, August 29, destroyed an illegal market called “Kasuwan Dare,” purported to be serving as the hideout for hoodlums and drug dealers in Asokoro, Abuja.

The market was situated at Hassan Musa Katsina Street, close to Kpaduma II in Asokoro Extension, FCT Abuja.

Speaking after the demolition of those structures, the Director of the Department of Development Control, Mr Mukhtar Galadima, har said that the unlawful marketplace had become a threat to the residents of the area and passersby.

Galadima had also added that the area had become a den of sorts, for criminal activities regardless of the relentless efforts by the Federal Capital Territory Administration to purge the area.

The director had also added that the miscreants working in the area were affecting the aesthetic quality of the whole environment, and that the FCTA could no longer allow it to continue.
