Burnley FC scored late in stoppage time to grab a 1-1 draw against Chelsea FC, who were down to 10 players, at Stamford Bridge. This result was a dent in Chelsea’s hopes of finishing in the top four.

Chelsea got off to a great start, scoring within the first four minutes. Pedro Neto broke through the defense and passed the ball to João Pedro, who shoved it into the net from up close. The hosts took control early on, with Cole Palmer’s shot being stopped by a key block from Kyle Walker while Burnley struggled to handle the pressure.

Chelsea had the ball most of the time, but they couldn’t make their lead any bigger. Palmer had a great chance when he was all alone, but shot right at Martin Dúbravka. Burnley didn’t cause much trouble either, with the only real attempt being a free-kick from Marcus Edwards that went wide.

The game changed 20 minutes in when Wesley Fofana got a second yellow for a late challenge on James Ward-Prowse, leaving Chelsea with one player less. Burnley saw the chance and pushed ahead, finally scoring in the 93rd minute. Zian Flemming slipped into the box and headed in Ward-Prowse’s perfect cross, leaving the home crowd quiet.

Chelsea’s chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League have taken a hit, and although Burnley fought hard to come back, their chances of staying up are still looking pretty slim.
