Manchester City managed to cling on to their two-goal lead for much of the time, but a late resurgence saw Leeds United roar back to life with goals from Lukasz Gvardiol, Calvert-Lewin, and Nmecha. Phil Foden scored for Man City within the first and the last minute of the match and it helped them to get a tight 3-2 victory at the Etihad Stadium after two other goals from the Croat and Nmecha plus the penalty converted by Lukas Nmecha, leveled the match.

The game was completely changed with the addition of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the scorer of the second-half goal, in the second half by substitution after the break. The striker grabbed one back after four minutes in the second half by plugging a shot-in after a rebound was left to him kindly. Calvert-Lewin got to have a free kick in the 75th minute, and he was fouled by Joško Gvardiol. Former City striker Lukas Nmecha tried at first, but his initial shot was saved; however, on the rebound, he was able to score and level the match.
The heroes for City were firstly Phil Foden, who scored in the 1st and final minutes of the game, precisely, and then later the man who made the assist on the break, Rayan Cherki. They got back into the title race with a win they needed so much, and Leeds are down in the Championship zone.
