Popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has come out to confirm the news circulating online that she was made the deputy governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party -PDP in Lagos State for the 2023 gubernatorial elections.
Funke Akindele made this announcement in a video she posted on her official Instagram handle revealing that she would be Abdulazeez Olajide Adediran’s running mate for the PDP governorship candidate.
She also said that she was running the race to help assist and contribute to the growth of youth, women, and children as she has seen how they suffer in the country. In her words:
“When Dr. Abdulazeez Olajide Adediran JANDOR, ask me to say be his running mate as the deputy governor in next year’s general election, I saw it as an opportunity to liberate and improve the welfare of our people, particularly the deprived youth, women, and the girl child. My decision was not only to accept this big responsibility but to also work tirelessly and complement Dr. Jandor’s burning desire to see our dear State live up to its full potential.”
Funke Akindele has revealed that she is a Lagos state Indigene from the Ikorodu area.
