Nigerian female rapper Mocheddah reminisced about her early years in the music industry during her appearance on the TeamwithTaypod podcast.
She shared that at just 14, she began spending time in music studios, often going with a young Wizkid to studios in Ojuelegba.
Mocheddah recounted about learning from experienced musicians and producers, including the late OJB Jezreel, whose mentorship played a key role in her musical journey.
Though her parents initially had reservations about her music career, they later became supportive.
She highlighted her mother’s key role in ensuring her safety, often accompanying her to the studio and enforcing a strict curfew.
“I became a studio rat at 14. Wizkid and I would go to studios in Ojuelegba together. We’d watch and learn from veteran musicians and producers. My mom would take me to studios and I had a curfew. Later, I became friends with Wizkid and Ice Prince, and we’d go to studios together. We didn’t record, we just watched and got inspired”, she said.
