Former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has informed Victor Osimhen that they were no better than footballers who have gone to Saudi Pro League before coming back to Europe, thus, he suggested that this would not destroy his career.
The 26-year-old Osimhen is widely considered among the most desirable forwards in Europe. Besides Real Madrid, PSG, Man United, and Chelsea, Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia are also reportedly on his trail. After being most prolific for Napoli, where he became the top scorer of Serie A and ended their 33-year title drought, Osimhen led Galatasaray to the domestic double last season.
While Osimhen did not show much interest in the Saudi offer initially, Al-Hilal have now come up with an offer that breaks all records at this summer. Still, Osimhen is not leaving his mind from Europe.
Meanwhile, Ighalo, who spent four years in Saudi Arabia, has a different opinion and is of the view that a short-term arrangement will help the player of his country get a lot of money and positively impact his career.
My statement to him is very clear: play in Saudi Arabia for two years, get a nice money, and then come back to Europe. The career will not be finished — it will be only better, said Ighalo during the podcast with Teddy A.
The European teams that are interested in Osimhen are still on their way, they are not sure about the money they need to pay for a transfer and also about wages that the player demands, thus, Al-Hilal are more aggressive in their pursuit and they are hoping that Osimhen will change his mind.
