The remains of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, were on Friday, March 15, buried at his Aliiwo ancestral home at about 4.30pm.
The deceased monarch, who reigned for just two years, had passed away at the age of 81, on Thursday at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State, after a short illness.
The state deputy governor, Bayo Lawal, along with other government functionaries had attended the ceremony at the family burial ground at Aliiwo in the Ibadan North Local Government Area of the state.
There was a lying-in-state at Mapo Hall from 12 noon to 1pm before the remains of the monarch were carried to Aliwo for burial after prayers.
