The Oloro of Oro Kingdom, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyetoye Olufayo II, was forced to worship at the First Baptist Church in Oro on Sunday after the Catholic Church he planned to attend was locked by aggrieved community members.
Reports have it that the displeased people, who were said to be angry over his enthronement, had claimed the church’s land and warned him to stay away. Security operatives comprising police and DSS men were stationed around the locked Catholic Church to avert any crisis.
The monarch had attended the Baptist service under heavy security amidst some loyal subjects, while the Catholic Church was not opened for the day.
