The Nigeria Police have arrested the younger brother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, at the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos State.

Adura and his companion Ibrahim Koleosho, also known as King White, were reportedly taken away on Wednesday after they attended a court hearing about a phone he sold to a man named Damola Ayinde.

According to PUNCH Metro, Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, argued with Yomi Fabiyi during a January press briefing regarding claims against the late singer’s brother, Adura.

Mohbad’s Brother, Friend Arrested After Lagos Court Hearing

On Friday, December 13, 2024, Fabiyi filed a petition claiming that the deceased’s brother had started an Instagram discussion in which he claimed to have video evidence of Mohbad’s death.

In the petition that he shared on social media, Fabiyi said that Adura requested N3 million in Bitcoin in exchange for the video evidence.

The allegation was refuted by Adura, who claimed that the chat was from Ayinde, to whom he had sold his phone.

Since then, a forensic investigation has been carried out, and the court is still looking into the matter.

In response to the arrest, Abosede burst into tears in a viral video on Wednesday, appealing for help in finding her son.

She was heard sobbing inside a car in the widely shared video, alleging that the kidnapping was planned by actor Yomi Fabiyi and a man named Sam Jojo.

Speaking in Yoruba, she said, “Please help me, Nigerians. Yomi Fabiyi and Sam Jojo have taken my son. I don’t know where they are taking him to. He asked them to take my son away. My son did nothing to them. They must not lay a hand on him, he is sick. Demola, you’ve put me in trouble. Mohbad’s spirit will fight you.”

Earlier in December, Adura had accused Fabiyi, Ayinde, and others of hacking his TikTok account in order to harm his reputation and sought a public apology.

He had also sued them for N1 billion, alleging defamation, evidence manipulation, and false allegations against him.

According to a family member who spoke on the condition of anonymity on Wednesday, the arrest was not unrelated to Koleoso and Fabiyi’s violent exchanges.

“We don’t know the whereabouts of Adura but I can confirm that his friend, Koleosho, was arrested after the court proceedings today. Everything just happened suddenly. We learnt there has been some exchange of words between Koleosho and Fabiyi over the issue relating to the phone and this may have led to the arrest. We don’t know where the security men came from but we have been trying to locate their whereabouts.” the family source disclosed.

A police source who was aware of the arrest told PUNCH Metro that they were apprehended by Zone 2 Police Command officers.

“Yes, they were arrested by the police operatives from Zone 2, Onikan, not men of the Lagos State Command,” he said.
