The Nigerian Navy has shaken up the appointments of top senior officers including that of 56 rear admirals and a Commodore.
The Director of Information, Commodore Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, had in a statement released on Thursday, June 29, remarked that those affected by the reorganization were: Rear Admiral Olusanya Bankole the former Director of Logistics, Defence Space Administration. Bankole is now officially appointed as the Chief of Communications and Information Technology, Naval Headquarters. Rear Admiral Alexander Bingel, the former Director, Combat Policy and Tactics is now appointed the Director of Logistics, Defense Headquarters.
The other appointments include Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu, being appointed the Chief of Defence Civil Military Cooperation, Defence Headquarters, Rear Admiral Kennedy Ezete resuming as the Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters.
Rear Admiral Livingstone Izu, who bad been the Director Manning at the Naval Headquarters was appointed the Chief of Logistics, Naval Headquarters. Rear Admiral Musa Madugu, a former Deputy Director for the Special Operation Forces at the Defense Headquarters was appointed as the Admiral Superintendent Naval Ordinance Depot.
Rear Admiral Emmanuel Nmoyem was reappointed as the Director Human Rights Desks at the Defence Headquarters, and Rear Admiral Ibrahim Shettima was reappointed to Defence Headquarters as Director of Plans.
Rear Admiral Monday Unurhiere, was appointed the Chief of Defence Administration at the Defence Headquarters, and Rear Admiral Hamza Kaoje was appointed Group Managing Director, Navy Holdings Limited.
Rear Admiral Istifanus Albara, the former Head, ECOWAS Maritime Security Coordination Centre, in Abidjan was appointed to Naval Headquarters as Navy Secretary. Rear Admiral Clement Atebi was reappointed to Naval Headquarters as the Director Audit.
Rear Admiral Samson Bura was reappointed the Director of Logistics at the Defense Intelligence Agency. Rear Admiral Umar Chugali was reappointed as the Flag Officer Commanding, in the Central Naval Command.
This reshuffling is coming less than two months after the initial appointments had been made
