At least seven Niger Delta kingdoms are slated to compete in the 2023 edition of the ‘Peace and Unity’ Gbaramatu Amasiekumor Football Tournament which will commence today, Monday, 10 April 2023.
The competing kingdoms include Gbaramatu, OgbeIjoh, Ogulagha, Isaba, Egbema, Warri, and Diebiri kingdoms.
According to the statement issued in Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom and signed by Hon. Kirifede Denyefa on Sunday, April 9, the sports competition will see neighboring towns and kingdoms battle it out among themselves to carry the coveted trophy.
The statement additionally explained that aside from the football competition, other activities brought out to spice up the festival included tug of war, draft competition, and cooking competition billed for the ladies only
