Regardless of several palliative measures from the Federal Government to sustain and keep the Murtala Muhammed International Airport running efficiently, reports have shown that the terminal can no longer work effectively.
According to the Managing Director, of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria FAAN, Captain Rabiu Yadudu, the airport facilities were obsolete, and there was an increased need for a new international airport in the state, now more than ever.
Yadudu had said, “The baggage landing, runway, and central cooling system are over 40 years old and should have been replaced already.”
“Additionally, Nigerians who travel through the Lagos State airport have been lamenting the depreciation of the facilities at the terminal, citing that it makes a horrible travel experience.”
