Paul Pogba has strengthened his expanding ties with Arabian sports by becoming both a shareholder and ambassador for Al Haboob, the planet’s first professional camel racing team. The Monaco midfielder, who recently made his comeback following a break, is now aiding the promotion of one of the Middle East’s oldest and culturally important sports.
Al Haboob participates in competitions throughout Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the broader Gulf area. Pogba, 32, mentions that his passion for the sport grew from researching and viewing races online. “I’ve seen plenty on YouTube and aimed to grasp the methods and tactics,” he shared with BBC Sport. “What caught my attention was the commitment required. Sport is sport. It calls for passion, sacrifice and collaboration.”

The ex-Manchester United and Juventus player mentioned that the fundamentals behind sporting achievement are the same. “No matter if it’s football, camel racing, or boxing, you require determination, concentration, and self-control. Those qualities create champions.”
Al Haboob co-owner Omar Almaeena described Pogba’s arrival as “transformational,” praising his global influence and passion for cultural heritage. “This partnership is about more than racing,” he said. “It’s about sharing a tradition that deserves worldwide recognition.”
