According to the state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, the forensic audit report that revealed the alleged theft of N11.9 billion from the Kwara State Government account is a hoax because the audit firm, SSAC and Professional Services, is no longer in business.
The PDP claimed in a statement released on Saturday by its publicity secretary, Tunji Morohunfoye, that the Corporate Affairs Commission investigation the party conducted into the audit firm had discovered that the audit business the government had engaged to perform the work was inactive.
The audit business, SSAC Advisory and Professional Limited, allegedly recruited by the APC administration headed by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, was found to be an inactive or dormant firm, according to the findings of our legal inquiry conducted at the Corporate Affairs Commission.
This is according to a report that the CAC signed. In other words, the corporation hasn’t filed any returns, disclosed its income, or paid any taxes. The Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq administration allegedly employed this company to do a “forensic audit” for Kwara State.
They said that It is important to educate Kwarans that an external auditor lacks the legal right to examine state financial records. The Kwara State Auditor General, who is authorized by law to conduct audits, has these powers.
They put the Mal to the test in light of the evidence. According to the state PDP, a forensic audit was not performed between the years 2011 and 2019 as claimed by the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq-led APC party administration.
Remember that the state administration recently claimed that between 2011 and 2019, while Abdulfattah Ahmed was the former governor, approximately N11.9 billion in public funds were stolen from the state’s treasury.
The state government claimed in a statement signed by Rafiu Ajakaye, the governor’s chief press secretary, that a forensic audit study had discovered the alleged theft among other astounding disclosures of alleged wrongdoing throughout the tenure of the state’s most recent administration.
