President Bola Tinubu has signed into law a bill to grant 300% raises in salaries and allowances for judicial officials reflects his commitment towards enhancing the welfare of Nigerian workers.

According to a statement by Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, Basheer Lado, the new Act provides for increased salaries, allowances and benefits for judicial officers, adjusting them to fit new realities. The legislation amends the Certain Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) Act, No.6 of 2002 (as amended) by removing any provisions that concern Judicial Office Holders.

The signed bill proposes a 300% increase in salaries and allowances for judicial officials across Nigeria, acknowledging their invaluable roles while guaranteeing them fair pay. This step strengthens Nigeria’s system of justice while creating a new barometer of leadership which values the labour as well as the wages earned through sacrifice from all Nigerians.

Lado emphasized President Tinubu’s determination to ensuring just remuneration and improved working conditions especially for those serving in important positions. “This landmark move is an expression of Mr president’s deep commitment towards making sure that every earner receives recognition and remuneration they deserve” said Lado.

The bill was passed by the Senate in June last year, which was an indication that they are dedicated to enhancing the well-being of Nigerians in a gradual manner. President Tinubu’s administration does not relent on its effort to ensure that dignity of labor is respected and that workers are empowered to take part in building the nation.

In giving priority to the financial status of judges, Tinubu’s administration shows its dedication to creating a better Nigeria for all, where every employee will be treated with dignity and rewarded accordingly
