Mohamed Salah’s four goal contributions powered Liverpool to a resounding 6-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, restoring their four-point lead at the Premier League summit. The result marked Liverpool’s 16th win in their last 24 top-flight meetings against Spurs, D6, L2.
Liverpool dominated from the start, with Salah orchestrating relentless pressure. After an early miss from the Egyptian, Luis Díaz opened the scoring with a superb header from Trent Alexander-Arnold’s pinpoint cross. Alexis Mac Allister doubled the lead with a header following a defensive lapse by Spurs, but James Maddison pulled one back before halftime after dispossessing Mac Allister and curling home brilliantly.
The visitors were back in control before the break, though, as Salah laid on Dominik Szoboszlai to restore their two-goal cushion. The forward became the first Premier League player to record 10 goals and 10 assists before Christmas and added another shortly after halftime, capitalizing on Spurs’ defensive errors to net from close range.
Salah completed his dominant display with Liverpool’s fifth and assisted Díaz for the sixth. Tottenham was resilient in their efforts, as there were goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke, but Liverpool’s ruthless attack sealed a spectacular win and sent Spurs to their 10th defeat in 12 encounters against league leaders.
