Controversial Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington has reportedly escaped an attempted assassination, just days after being released from extended detention in Kuje prison.
The incident, which is said to have occurred in the early hours of Monday, happened as the singer was leaving a club in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State.
In a video shared on his Instagram, Darlington disclosed that his car was shot at multiple times by unknown assailants, leaving it badly damaged.
Reports indicate that the footage revealed bullet holes in the rear of the vehicle, providing proof of the attack.
“Long face sent killers my way, and I have not even posted anything. Bro, is this necessary? You tried to take my life. Really?” he said, visibly shaken in the video.
Darlington voiced his fear for his safety, alleging that an unidentified person was behind the attack.
Although the identity of the alleged attacker has not been revealed, the rapper’s statements have sparked discussions on social media regarding his recent controversies and highly publicised detention.
The rapper, known for his extravagant personality and outspoken remarks, was freed from Kuje prison less than a week ago, after being detained for allegedly defaming Burna Boy.
