In Abuja, Nasarawa, Niger, and Kogi states, darkness threatens as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) issued a five-working-day disconnection notice to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) over their non-compliance with the clauses of the Market Rules.
This was according to a disconnection notice signed on Friday by the TCN Market Operator, Ali Ahmad.
TCN had also announced that the proposed disconnection date would be on July 28, at the 33kV feeder from the 132/33kV Katampe 1 Transmission Station and Feeder 3 from the 132/33kV Central Area Transmission Station.

Ali Ahmad’s statement read;
“The Market Operator hereby issues a disconnection order for Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) for its non-compliance with the provisions of the Market Rules.“The defaulting Market Participant, AEDC, has been duly notified of their infractions concerning non-compliance with Section 15.3.3.a of the Market Rules.
Ahmad concluded his statement by revealing that a newspaper publication had been made in keeping to the application of the Rules. This gives the AEDC a deadline of five (5) business days from the date to remedy its Market Rules infractions.
