The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has disclosed that Nigeria provides electricity to nearby countries, Togo, Benin, and Niger, on a 24-hour basis. This news comes even though Nigeria is still facing problems with its own electricity supply.
Sule Abdulaziz, the CEO of TCN, made this statement during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics show. He said, “We give power to Togo, Benin, and Niger regularly. They get electricity from Nigeria 24 hours a day and they pay for it.”
Abdulaziz also mentioned that some Nigerian homes are getting better electricity supply, with those in “Band A” getting 20-22 hours of power each day. However, he admitted that not all Nigerians have stable electricity.
Recently, Nigeria’s national power grid has had issues, including three failures in the past week, causing widespread power cuts across the country.
