Tinubu Launches Abuja Metro, Offers Free Rides Until December
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu had on Wednesday after launching the Abuja Metro, extended the free train rides on the Abuja Rail Mass Transit, otherwise known as the Metro Rail, up until December 2024.

This is order revokes the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike’s directive as he had previously announced free rides on the Metro Rail for two months to lessen the hardship plaguing the residents of the territory and ensure seamless transaction.

Tinubu’s command now means that the rail services in Abuja would be free until December, the deadline.

What They’re Saying

During his speech at the launch, Tinubu had said;

“Our dear landlord and his team, I heard you saying two months free ride. I appeal to you to make it till the end of the year.

“Since today you’re not going to charge me, that will give the people hope and reasons to celebrate.”
