Bankole Olowokere, Head coach of the U-17 Women’s national team, has picked Alvine Dah Zossu, Taiwo Afolabi, and Opeyemi Ajakaye as part of the flamingos 21 goals for FIFA U-17 Women’s World cup finals this year.
Goalkeeper, Faith Omilana, Defenders Comfort Folorusho, Blessing Sunday, Miracle Usani, Blessing Emmanuel, forwards- Omowumi Bello, and Yetunde Ayantosho made it to the list
Selected players and officials are expected to leave Nigeria on Monday, 26th Sept for camping in Turkey in preparation for the tournament, On the 6th of October they are to fly to India. All the matches are slated to take place in the stadium in Bhubaneswar, Pundet Jawarharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa, and the DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai.
The flamingos are to face Germany, in their first match, on the 11th of October. Then they’ll face New Zealand on the 14th of October in Goa. They’ll later jet to Bhubaneswar to face Chile 17th of October.
Since the competition started ten years ago in New Zealand, Nigeria has only missed out once in 2018.
