Nollywood actress Uche Montana has denied claims linking her to the alleged drug abuse crisis in the household of actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
The actress addressed the matter in a statement shared on her Instagram page on Monday, following accusations by Nwoko on Facebook, where he alleged that Regina’s siblings and close friends, including Montana and actress Sonia Uche, were sabotaging his wife’s rehabilitation.
Nwoko had claimed that the group frequently ignored medical instructions restricting access to Regina during therapy and even “bring her the same drugs she was being treated for.”
Reacting to the allegations, Montana wrote, “My attention has been drawn to a circulating post that appears to link my name to certain claims. For clarity, I have no involvement or connection to the situation described. This note is simply to set the record straight and protect my peace.”
Her statement comes amid growing controversy surrounding the marriage of Regina Daniels and Senator Nwoko. Two weeks ago, Regina, in a viral video, alleged that she was experiencing domestic abuse and described herself as a “slave” in her husband’s house.
Nwoko, however, countered her claims, asserting that his wife was struggling with “drug and alcohol addiction” and accusing her of violent behavior toward domestic staff.
In her own posts, Regina alleged that Nwoko encouraged her drug use, locked her up, seized her phones, and forced himself on her whenever she resisted, describing the situation as one of hypocrisy.
