Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has stated that some of his fellow rappers in the industry are envious of his success.
He argued that the claims suggesting he lacks lyrical strength are rooted in jealousy.
According to him, despite the criticism, he has attained greater international recognition than any other Nigerian rapper.
The ‘Pity This Boy’ crooner said many of his colleagues resent him because he can both rap and sing.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Toronto Ada’s Room podcast, Odumodublvck said,
“In Nigeria, they say that my rap is not good but I’m the most featured rapper by international artists. I think it’s a thing of envy because I sing my hooks, my songs are hits and I get more bookings than them.“The envy is deep especially when they think they are better. But we pay no mind to that. We just continue pushing for those that believe — let them continue to tune in. It’s very unfortunate for the people on the other side because this thing is not going to stop soon.”
He also challenged those who believe they are better rappers to back their claims with tangible success, urging them to sell more records and shows if they truly are superior.
