The new academic session at Covenant Point Academy, a primary school located in the Amukoko area of Lagos, began on a tragic note yesterday, as the school fence crumbled, killing two children in the process.

One of the kids has been identified as Samat Saheed, while the other, a 10-year-old girl is identified as Judith Ndujie.

Judith, the 10-year-old girl who resided on Olumoko Street had told her father that a neighbor had sent her on an errand, shortly before the incident happened.

“While walking past the school to her destination, the school fence, which has been under construction, collapsed on her chest.”

A parent has reported that the fence collapsed because it was not on a proper, solid foundation.

Benjamin Hundeyin, who is the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, has confirmed the incident, stating that the school owner had been arrested after the unfortunate incident had occurred.
